The whole area is full of the most wonderful restauarnts of great diversity and taste from local
traditional Spanish cusine through to Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Seafood, Belgian, French, Steak Houses, Tapas Bars ...
you name it, it is here, and good quality, very reasonably priced.
We have three ‘locals’. First
is Bar Canis which is a 2 minute drive or 20 walk (uphill!) – it provides the most fabulous food and speciality
tapas with good wine and very cheaply – this is where the locals go to eat. Its reputation for its Paella stretches
for miles......... The second is a roll down the hill to the coast about 4 minutes (by car) and is a superb Chinese
called Pato Peking. The third is a wonderful Italian - our daughters' favourite - which is 3 minutes down the hill (by
car) at the Hotel Montemar called La Tartarna. Here they have a comprehensive menu from Pizza upwards and superb Chocolate
Mouse (ask them to put one by for you when you order your main as they are very popular and often run out).
Try
eating in the Jalon Valley. If you have withdrawal symptoms for Sunday roast, go to Monroes Carvery in Moraira and if
you want a fun evening overlooking the beach with cocktails try Coconuts in Calpe on the stip along from the Esmerelda
Hotel. You should also try the shellfish restaurants in Calpe Port and also in the Port is a Japanese where the chefs
entertain you with their knives and cook in front of you.
Or if you're just
too exhausted from all the day's activities why not pop into the Mercadona supermarket in Benissa and stock up on some
shellfish and meat and have a BBQ at home. The Villa has a traditional charcoal spanish style BBQ and for those that
don't want to wait there is also a gas BBQ. Both are located on the pool side so have an evening dip whilst you
are waiting for the food to cook................ and sample some of the
Jalon wine while you wait!

not to be missed.
